On April 18th we gathered to celebrate Trinity Center and to raise contributions that enable Trinity Center to operate and grow. Board members, staff, interns, volunteers and a community of supporters, 200 people strong, enjoyed each other’s company, food and wine and the piano performance of our friend Roger Lambert.
We raised $60,000 during a short part of the evening, due to the generosity of our guests who raised “paddles” to support Trinity Center financially. Adding the revenue from tickets and sponsorships our total exceeded $80,000!
The Pat Hazel Award was presented to Trinity Episcopal School for their “Birthday Quarters” program, and to Foundation for the Homeless for their leadership during the Safe Sleep for Women project.
It was a beautiful evening, and we all walked out knowing that Trinity Center is embraced by a loving community that cares deeply and is led by compassion and a commitment to serve the poor and the homeless.
To all who participated and made a donation, a deep bow of gratitude. Special thanks to the small committee that worked on this event for months: Riki Rushing, Merrell Ann Shearer, Kelly Talbert, Mary Keenan and Diane Holloway.
None of us can do it alone, but as a community, a “village” of love, we can, and are, making this a more compassionate world. Praise be to God.
I am yours, in service.
