A Christmas blessing …

30665-christmas-decorationsThis year’s Trinity Center Christmas Party on Dec. 14th was a wonderful event — filled with love for more than 200 neighbors and the devoted service of more than 50 volunteers. We feasted on barbecue, handed out gifts and enjoyed good music.

We were truly blessed. And we want to share with everyone the wonderful blessing delivered at this festive gathering by The Rev. Beth Magill, a long-time friend of Trinity Center, a former associate priest at St. David’s and currently leader of the Episcopal Student Center at UT. We are so grateful for her service.

Here is Beth’s heartfelt blessing:

Holy and Gracious God, we give you thanks for the abundance of blessings that you have showered upon us this day.
Open our eyes and open our hearts that we might be aware of your presence with us here.
We give you thanks for meaningful relationships that shed light on who you are.
We give thanks for music that invites not only our bodies, but our souls to dance.
We give thanks for the hands that have prepared this meal, and those that will clean up after it, and we ask that it nourish our bodies, so that we might be empowered to serve you.
We give thanks for the abundant gifts we have each been given, but especially those which we will receive this day.
Above all, we give you thanks for the roads we have each traveled that have brought us together today.
Make us grateful for this moment, this place, your presence.
Grow in us the true spirit of this season in our hearts, that we might fully embrace who you are. AMEN
