On the evening of Tuesday, April 25th, Trinity Center’s Board of Directors will host our annual Barbara Jordan Celebration to support our work with people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty. We invite you to become a sponsor for this important event and join us in helping our homeless neighbors – the people you see every day and those you may not see who are hidden under bridges and behind office buildings.
We also will proudly present The Pat Hazel Award, for extraordinary service to Austin’s homeless neighbors, to our founding mother and father, Diana and Doug Bell, and to the mother-daughter teams of the National Charity League-Lake Austin Chapter — with the super-dedicated duo of Avery and Lorry Carlson accepting for NCL.
Your sponsorship will help provide meals to thousands of our hungry downtown neighbors, financial assistance for medication and replacement of vital documents needed for housing and employment and hundreds of bus passes for needed transportation. At Trinity Center, neighbors find a safe place to rest and be cared for by staff, interns and hundreds of volunteers who genuinely care. We are their neighborhood day center, a place many of them call home.
Small but mighty, Trinity Center has served the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of our community since 2000, with our doors wide open six days a week offering different programs each day – including women-only services on Mondays and Tuesdays and a worship service on Sundays. (For details on our programs and history, please go to www.trinitycenteraustin.org.)
Trinity Center does wonderful work on a small budget, and we hope you will sponsor our main event and help us move forward.
